Wow, today was like undoubtedly the best day so far of my exchange... and im not really sure what made it so great but it just was... everything was perfect! so, this morning I woke up and we had french fried for lunch which was just great and we also had eggs which im not crazy about but i enjoyed them anyways... then cake that my brother made! Then for some reason; dont really know whe i just all of a sudden got brave and started to speak a good try at french to my mom! and we were going to watch ice princess but who knew that american dvds dont work in french dvd players... so we had to settle for chicken run! it was awrsome and although i didnt understand a lot of it... i did understand bits and pecies of sentences and i followed the plot! then my mom and i went to this festival thing that we are preparing for and we are protesting about some woman who is imprisoned in columbia... i think its along the same llines as the nelson madela story and when we were there i understood the commands to hold up the bamboo stand thing from this woman.. great! then we went to the rotary and me and the other girls are like automatic best friends and everyone is fluent in english so we let the parents do their thing and we do ours! it was so so so much fun and we are planning all sorts of activities together! we just click and i also realized that we are all pretty much on the same lost level... they just pull it off better than me... except johanna... shes excellent with her french! but anyways ive been told that i have to wake up early tomorrow to go by the school... dont really know why but whatever and they are joking because itll be my first time seeing the morning in france because i always wake up at 1200 lol! ok well im actually going to shave my legs.. probably tmi but im not going to have enough time to take a shower in the morning so ill do it now! bon nuit!

Sorry... had to rant earlier this morning lol!!!!!! its all because no one leave messages --- yeah thats right its your fault i ranted! oh well... i just had lunch... eggs which i dont prefer but cleaned the plate anyways and french fries... and yesterday my brother made chocolate cake/brownies so we ate some of that too!! lets just say my smice took off half the dessert plate! MMM speaking of desserts did we ever have some good ones last night! oh yeah and johanna from finland knows who finnish skater Kiira Korpi is.. so exciting almost heavenly and since finland doesnt have any big stars.. SHES MAJOR thats what we need in the states MAJOR FAME FIGURE SKATERS like in russia and finland! Im going to watch ice princess cause i just love it... but i cant exactly work the dvd player so im killing time until my mom gets off the phone... im trying to thik of anything else exciting.. EVAN LYSACEK is in a new movie.. independent film... but no big for us cause were WEIR fans right? I expect everyone to be watching the figureskating on tv over there in the states!!! you know its starting up soon??? ok im rambling and i hear dishes so i think shes off the phone! Wow! Good job Way to comment everyone!!!! (sarcasm is difficult to achieve on the computer) So, today I will be writing about yesterday because i got home too last and just passed out last night! But, anyways, yesterday was pretty uneventful during the day, we played some games that same one from yesterday and also another called Avalon... its looks like chinese checkers but its not... you have marbles on both different sides but all the little places have little shoots between them so that when you push the marble on the end all of them move, and the object is to knock all the other persons marbles off the board by having more of yours than theirs lined up so that you can push thiers... its kind of confusing in words... and lets just say i lost lol! like always! but, i think its one of those things like playing tic tac toe that if youve played it enough you can probably figure out the best strategys and set ups to win! Moving on, so last night I went and had this huge formal dinner with the rotary club it was five courses plus like drinks while people were mingling and stuff... but anyways it had its ups and downs... the fodd was really good and all the people were really friendly... i also met the other exchange students that ill go to school with and that are in the rotary club.. but the down to that was kind of an ego slap because i feel like they know way way way mire french than i do... like the rotary people were telking to us in french and i didnt catch a word of it... and they caught all of it... yeah that sucks... and also they seemed to have a lot more information than me... i seem to be in the dark and didnt even know it... they know all about school and have these little id cards and everything and i definately dont.... so its slightly upsetting that im kind of the weakest link of the crowd...... but to boost my spirits i have already planned the watching of ice princess today in french with french subtitles in attempt to boost my french vocabulary. life is peachy until you have someone elses to judge yours with.the rotary crowd... dont know the rotarians names cause i was totally lost but the kids are Stephanie from Canada, Johanna from Finland, me, Monika from Mexico, and Hanna from Pennsylvania

oh this ones dull...

change it up a bit write in pastels! So, last night was my frist real storm in France! I know I know its exciting contain yourselves! But it was actually pretty intense! There was hail and the wind was blowing fierce... i discovered why the shutters have those little hooks that keep them in place.. i started using them last night after my shutters were going crazy! the lights were flickering like crazy i pretty much almost dies.. it was major and today its still kind of overcasty... mental note remember to actually use those shutter hooks tonight and there is debris from the storm all over everything (not in the house lol) so, its two o clock nothing real exciting going on! i broke some nails over the course of the stay so I did some fingernail cli (OK THATS BORING ILL STOP THERE FOR YOUR BENEFIT) but anyways they do look nice now and and things are starting to fall off the wall... dont knw why probably from that storm.. im blaming it for everything today... Oh yes this is random but everyday i make up my bed (applause) and its kind of strange those bed sheets! ok so im always having trouble figuring this out so yesterday I just examined the whole thing and its actually pretty much one of the best inventions in the world. you see, there is only one cover for the bed but it is very thick and awkward and its actually a comforter inside its only pillow case thing that is made out of sheet materials! so, its like a comforter and sheets all in one! isnt that great i know! OK THATS DULL.. its probably time that i move on... oh yes and something to add... as you may notice most of the messages say *Comments 0 on them... it is slightly discouraging that i dont know if anyone is actually reading this or not... from the amounts of comments im surely only writing to the aliens! So, it would make myself and various figure skaters around the world happy if you left a comment just one saying ____________ is reading this blog... for example MICHELLE KWAN is readng this blog (substitute your name) its not hard and i know that everyone is just embarassed now that weve hit multi platinum (what am i talking about?) to leave a message cause they dont want to say something stupid that the whole world and four other planets can see but its ok this is a safe environment to leave a message lol (what is this the guidance office?) games and whatnot

So, i already typed a message today cause i thought nothing more exciting would happen... but i was wrogn kinda! After lunch today, Corentin, Sylvie and I ( pause: OMG the shift key is working again IT LIVES!!!) played this game where you have these tiles with colored numbers on them and you have to try to get rid of all of them by putting down sets either all of the same number in different colors, or consecutive numbers of the same colors. First however, you must get thirty points with tiles in order before you can even start to play!! It seems somewhat easy in writing but the strategy that goes in to this is endless and lets just say... i was really bad! I lost both times we played! The first time cause I didnt know what I was doing and the second just cause Im bad lol! oh yes and the cell phone lived! I dont remember if i already wrote this or not, but i turned off the cell phone to charge it and something happened and i was locked out and it wanted a code PUK i think this is only in european cell phones and you only get a certain amount of tries to get it right and then it locks you out permantly so.. it was a big deal trying to find that number... they tore the house apart looking for that mysterious number.. so... i was beginning to be afraid that i killed it but, when i woke up this afternoon lol it survived! thats always a plus and its back safe in my hands now! Tonight for dinner we had cous cous... very good and these other things that im not sure if its bread or what but they were also excellent and buttery! hmmm im having some difficulties with the internet tonight dont know what it is... probably bad signal

Second day of Swimming!

so, i learned that we are not actually going to the pool for fun, jeanne, the girl i always go with is actually training to badminton! so im with my brother just a tag along for her training! but, everyone should know that yesterday i was fabulous and the coach did not give up on me and i completed all the swimming! yes, i almost died, drowned, suffocated and more, but i did complete the activities! at one point i got excited because he gave me this little floaty thing, but you know how it goes... it was actually used so that i held it in my hand thus making it impossible to use my hands and therefore swimming laps using only my legs! then, we played a game with a ball i guess testing reflexes or something... i was bad lol! but i did score 4 points for my team! also we went to this festival, jeanne and corentin and i and we watched laurie, one of our friends play clarinet in a band, and also there were a lot of ceremonial things there too... i think that there was a queen of the festival and then all the little kids had red and white balloons and they tied little messages on them and let them go... it was pretty cool for me, but my friend said that its ridiculous! we had crepes last night for dinner; they were really good they laid tons of toppings to pick from on the table so it was difficult to choose! i had one with mirabelle preserves... im not sure if we have that fruit in the states but i eat it a lot over here (looking in the dictionary) its not there um they almost look like baby tomatoes except they are orange and have a pitt and they kind of taste like citrus-sy (probably made up that word lol) theres a picture! back on topic and my other was with nutella! we have that in the states but just incase you dont know its the consistency of peanut butter but its actually hazelnut and chocolate cream mixed together... very good! i think that both of mine were dessert crepes! I just ate lunch and they were very sneaky! they are always laughing because i dont like cheese and so they fix cordon bleu in attempt to get me to eat the cheese and not know it! but im smarter than that! the cheese was seeping out! but i ate the whole thing anyways and i redieved a big FELICITATIONS! that means congradulations you ate the cheese! lol im pretty proud of myself right now! Dont mean to toot my own horn but man did i eat that cheese!!! mmm also for dessert we had frozen mars bars... kind of like those frozen snickers where they substitute the nuget for ice cream... very wonderful!!! Its raining outside so im not sure exactly what well do this afternoon! I could just be sitting here snooping around on figure skating websites.. but i have no problem with that... i love days of nothing but figure skating!!

Cant think of a good title!

So, its Monday, but I`m writing about Sunday and I have now determined that the right shift button on the kayboard doesnt work! This could be the source of some of my typing difficulties! Ok im just going to start out by talking about faire les bis... ok faire les bis is when you kiss someone on both cheeks as a greeting... and i have been doing a lot of this! Everytime you meet someone new you have to kiss them on both cheeks and everytime you see someone you know you have to kiss them on both cheeks.. that is if you have not seen them already that day. For example... yesterday i went to one of my friends Elodies house and when i got there there were about eight people there that i already knew so thats when you prepare for kissing and you have to kiss thm all so be prepared for 16 kisses and then when you are walking down the street and someone sees someone they know you have to stop and be introduced and then kiss. At this point in my life i have become used to kissing everyone! Now, yesterday i was told that we were going swimming but we actually did not! I went with jeanne to elodies house and all our friends were there and we just sat around and looked at magazines and then we went to the carnival where we just sat and talked and some of them had slushies... Then we went back to elodies house and had a pic nic and there was cous cous and tomatoes and corn and bread... not bad. We went back to the carnival and watched fireworks and rode a ride and then we met some other people who wanted to talk to me aobut jackass that tv show turned ,ovie with bam margera and wee man... unfortunatley my knowledge of this is slim so the conversation was short lived! *OK now to today, monday! Today, After lunch, when i woke up jeanne and her mom christine came and said that we were going swimming... corentin my brother went to. So what do we all have in mind? FUN NOODLES of course! NO ABSOLUTELY NOT! I quickly fould myself swimming laps and two laps behind the others under the command of a guy at the pool wearing a speedo! he quickly realized that my swimming was bad and then kind of gave up on my thank god! Thnen there was organized games with just us four in the pool. Actually there are two pools and one is all about 4 feet and the other about 10. So the day at the pool actually turned out to be a day at nazi camp and it was not fun! And they asked me if i wanted to go back tomorrow and i said yes! Woops! Now, I believe jeanne is picking me up to go se loriene one of my friends play clarinet or something lol! who knows but cornetin just asked me if i was going and of course i said yes! I hope its not swimming! Maybe next time i accidentally forget my bathing suit! haha Ok Seacrest out! Adrienne

today was pretty much awisome! First when i woke up at lunch time there were people here that wanted to take me to the festival tonight so of course i agreed! but at home for the afternoon corentin and i played lots of ping pong and i am very bad! also sylvie and i played but that was after i was already covered in sweat! but it was the ,ost fun tonight! Olivier and i drove to the festival which is really like an american carnival excêpt all the rides are way more harsh! I couldnt believe how intense they were... there little pirate ship was actually a magic carpet but it went like twelve times at fast and twice as long! I tend to ramble, but anyways at the carnival i met up with the girl and her mom who were here this morning and the girl and i went and met like ten other girls who were very nice and they liked to practice their english with me and i practiced my french and i actually understood their french part of the time! it was exciting! But, we rode three rides and sat and talked on the street curb and ate strange carnival food and it was just great... we were all sad to say goodbye but we are planning to eat lunch at school together and hopefully see each other again before school starts! Oh yeah and qlso corentin showed me a comic book that was about the Dalton gang its called Les Cousines Dalton and its about the dalton bank robbers and stuff with jessie james! It was very exciting to find a household book indirectly about my family! But im just so excited and now i go to bed cause its almost 1! leave a comment let me know whats going on! Adrienne

First day!

Well today was my first day and i dont understand anything lol! but thats ok i still had fun! This ,orning i unpacked all my suitcases and it didnt fill up the closet! im very dissapointed! so today my dad olivier and ,y brother corentin and i went on a bike ride, and in my mind i pictured a lovely little ride through the tiny town where i now live... but no way we are in the alpes... so instead we went on a fun but grueling bike ride through the alpes where we walked through a cave and balanced on a log over a river and drank out of a public fountain that you have to scoop up with your hands! we had a huge lunch with mpre food than usual for dinner in the states! oh yeah im starting to get used to this keyboard except the m and the w oh yeah and i love our dog its na,e is virgin and its tiny and white and lays down beside you wherever you are! olivier, my dad and i also went to st marcellin and walked around! to,orrow ,y brothers ,aking brownies! ___ look at all those ,issing Ms! ok im going to bed cause its 12 BON NUIT

I`m Here!

Well, I`m here in France and I am typing very very slowly because the keyboard is all jumbled up! the "a" is where the "q" used to be, the "," is where the "m" used to be, the "w" is randomly at the bottom, you have to shift to get numbers because if you don't you end up with these "èçàé" and you have to double shift to get to the "@" sign and the "!" sign is at the bottom beside the shift key! now you see... this is a little confusing oh yes dont let me forget that the "." is over there way on the right, so you have to pick up your hand! But otherwise this has been quite uneventlul... the flights were fine, 3 of us waited in Paris for a very long time eleven hours to be exact and at one point we all fell asleep... woops! But we had nothing to do so we just sat there! When I got to Lyon i struggled like a fool with three rolling suitcases and a backpack until i spootd my family! we faire les bis or kiss on both cheeks! the suitcases almost didnt fit in the WV and I fell asleep on the way home! When I got home I talked to my sister Ophelie in Mexico on my brother corentins webcam and then went to bed! Today its only 2 but I ate a bigger lunch than i usually eat for dinner! But I must go see whats going on downstairs cause ive been unloading all day! Ill be back tonight probably!
