Thanksgiving
Im getting ready to go to dance class... but well see if i can get this late blog entry in... its evident that im getting worse and worse at this blogging stuff! Anyways... what happened interesting last week? Oh yeah the teachers were on strike.... already said that... so I guess its on to the weekend! On Saturday I had horse back riding lessons... same old deal... usually goes unmentioned but I just have to tell the people of brevard that I galoped on a horse and also I trotted with my hands behind my back! That is some hard stuff! Also I had to click my feet together about the horses neck while trotting! This is way way way difficult! I thought this was a beginner class! Maybe I should go for the pony rides! After that we had thanksgiving at hannahs... we had a ton of food that we prepared ourselves... it was me and Hannah, Stephanie, Johanna, Eirin, and then four french girls, Siam, Valentine, Marie, et Romaine who all brought desserts and stephanie had made two deserts so we had an impossible amount of desserts! Six I believe plus some cookies... and for dinner we had turkey, stuffing, carottes, mashed potatoes and bread... it was quite excellent and it was the first thanksgiving for the french girls and johanna and Eirin! Anyways after that we just went out around saint marcellin and actually ended up at a gymnastics show at the school... it was quite interesting and really funny cause the routines were ridiculously bad! Sunday I called Xavier and we just fooled around in Teche... we went exploring in the forest and actually found an old road and something that appeared to be a tree house that little kids had began to build... it had a ladder and everything.. we got to the top of the mountain and there were all these dirt roads winding through the forest looked like their hadnt been any cars on them for a long time we walked a bit, found nothing and then turned back cause it was getting kind of cold... at the house we watched Blades of Glory... and it just wasnt as funny in French... but of course i was thinking all the english parts in my head and cracking up! And thats about it for the weekend.. and this week at school has been pretty uneventful... oh yeah we do have two new australiens at school.. the girl is really nice... the boy is really annoying... but as long as he sticks with alex(the other american guy) I think well be fine... they can just entertain each other! Anyways Im off to dance!

show museam... not practical shoes... why would you waste your time making shoes that are impossible to walk in? Just for the shoe museam?

Snow, Rotary, Family
Well... Last week, Friday to be exact... It snowed in St.Marcellin, where I go to school, and just a bit in Teche! So, that was pretty exciting... I did quite a bit of frolicking in the snow and jumping around... unfortunately it didnt stick cause it had rained the day before, but it did stick up on the mountains across from our house so we have white mountains now... Saturday we had a rotary thing in Romans and I had to ride there alone with some random rotary guy and when he figured out that I spoke english he decided that we needed to speak english so he could practice... i didnt really understand anything that he said... he needs more practice than just that car ride! The meeting hall was the tackiest thing you have ever seen with metallic pink drapes and leopard carpet... I still havent figured out what this practical use for a room decorated like that is! Perhaps a limited too birthday or something.. im imagining a lot of 4th graders and body glitter! So, the thing was long, and we always find ourselves sitting doing nothing while the rotarians have meetings... so we did a lot of nothing, had lunch, set up these tables for our countries that we visited, I made origami with Shiori and then had to help man the states table for the rotarians to come and ask like fifty of the same questions over and over! Where are you from? North Carolina... Oh Ive never heard of that... all i know is new york and san francisco... that you for asking anyways i guess! Then they took us to a shoe museam which was a little strange... they had old shoes, new shoes, shoes worn by celebrities, shoe horns, big shoes, little shoes, ornate shoes, plain shoes, metal shoes, wooden shoes, bejewled shoes, fur shoes, shoes from Africa, shoes from Asia, shoes from Europe, shoes from the Americas, shoes of kings, shoes of queens, shoes of princesses, and shoes that were impossibly to walk in..... unfortunately there were no figure skates... but there was a lot of shoes... it was strangley a bit interesting for the first ten minutes, but after that... id seen all the shoes that ive ever desired seeing in my life... i prefer them on the rack at the shoe store, preferably on sale... afterwards, hannah and i got left by the rotary club of saint marcellin, thanks guys, and they returned about ten minutes later to come get us, tried to play it cool... That evening... which was excellent... there was figure skating on TV the trophee eric bompard... my first time watching figure skating with french commentators... i never thought id say this but its really not the same without uncle dick and aunt peggy there to commentate... and where was peter when you needed the interview?? That night we ate birds eggs which was a little strange... but they were actually good.. and they were speckled! We had this apparatus on the table with these mini frying pans that you stuck into it and it cooked the eggs! Oh yeah, and we had family over for the weekend... sylvies sister and her husband so thats why we had a special meal... perhaps that counts as my thanksgiving? And yesterday we went on a promenage through the mountains so pretty all the trees covered in snow and the rocks and houses covered in ice cicles... Im glad ive finally found the places that they modele those miniature hallmark christmas villages after! We stopped at a little place where kids were sledding and had a snowball fight... lets just say my aim was a bit off... and i ended up getting nailed a couple of times with only attmpts at useless backfire! We also went to a ski slope which is currently closed or at least the chair lifts are... but there were people with there own skis and snowboards going up on foot and skiing down... There was ice and snow all over the road... im not sure how we made it in that WV but it seemed to be nothing to them jsut to drive fast in the snow/ice covered roads... the people of wnc are definatley woosies when it comes to driving in the snow... we dont have mountains this high.. and we dont have snow this deep... or thick layers of ice covering the road... so i will supply some pictures from this week end on the next post...

last weekend
So, just quick... really because i have to go to the bathroom lol! Maybe that was too much than you needed to know... but i know that if i get up to go to the bathroom ill have less motivation to do this and more motivation to watch figure skating... so its impossible to do! So, last weekend all the girls went to Monicas place for a late birthday party for her we had two cakes and played some board games that lasted way too long! then, afterwards we went to eirins for a little soiree... we made mexican food... i was the proud cooker of the meat... by pouring the powdered mix into the ground meat and watching it cook on the stove and i also did some vegetable chopping! But over all the mexican turned out good... and the guys came too for the eats... laurent, david, romain, and alex then afterwards, monica hannah and i had a little too much fun with one of those little cone with a ball things trying to catch it while in awkward positions like standing on one leg and turning in circles! pretty much impossible... then altoghether we watched 2 movies LES BRONZERS and LE ROI DES GUERRES first one funny the second one pretty heavy... we finally went to bed at five that morning... so... i really have to aller aux toilettes... but anyways if i can find my camera cord in the next five minutes ill post the pictures!

the ice tunnel.. hard to get the effect cause theyre these hangy down plastic things that you have to skate through, they can be a real pain if youre unstable...

the rink, the only place i saw halloween decorations... oh in all its splendor
Our kitty... well, only our kitty for 3 days... it kind of dissapeared a couple of days ago, were kind of assuming that it was someones cat and they took it back lol... it didnt really seem like a stray cat, it liked people too much... maybe ill just go find it and steal it back!!! Oh well... it was cute while it lasted... good thing i took all these pictures when i did!
