Strange Rotarian/ Hockey

ok so yesterday hannah and I were invited to this strange rotarians house... no one really knew who she was or why she just invited hannah and I but anyways she was incredibly nice but it was almost so nice that it was kind of horror movie creepily nice by the end... seeing that Im still not sure what the actual point of it was and the more i think about it the stranges the experience actually was... so they came to pick me up at my house and it was a woman... i would say in her early sixites but the active grandma type and also her youngest son who we later found out was 22 but i was thinking more of 19 when i got into the car... the woman started talking in these really slow sentences of mixed really bad franglish but when we responded quickly in decent french i think she realized that hannah and i do indeed speak french... and she showed us her law office and im not sure why... gave us a little tour guide history of the house... it was all quite strange really and then we went to there house... out in the country...a converted barn like many of the houses here... full of antiques... hannah and I were semi-forced feel bad to drink the homemade orange wine that she had made herself... it was sickening but with the salty pretzels I managed to finish the glass... and then the woman brought us the photo albums of their family and we had every picture explained to us... it was from their beach trip... we had all the grandchildren and children... then we had lunch it was salmon... and all throughout lunch the woman kept saying how we needed to hurry because the weather could turn at any time... i might add that there wasnt a cloud in the sky and it was perfectly sunny... but we had pureed goose livers for the appetizer... i barely got that down because it was horrible i was spreading it on bread but i still had the wine aftertaste and there was no water on the table... but i survived next was the meal it was perfect salmon and rice... i took a sign knowing that it was something that i actually liked so therefore i could eat it... so i got about two bites in and the woman quickly steals the plate says oh i forgot the sauce and drownds my fish and rice in the creme sauce... then it was ruined i had to choke that down like the fois gras... however the cake afterwards was good... so we got in the car and its her and her husband and her son all creepily nice and we are wondering why we are doing this strange family outing with these people we have never seen before and they took us to this castle in vinay that is actually a retirement home now for catholic preists and higharchy and they just went inside and showed us around... it was wierd... but at the time it didnt seem that weird... i was just going with the flow... then they took us to Notre Dame D'Oisiers which is a sacred site just outside of vinay where three miracles happened and there are these little chapel and one big church that are in the places where these miracles happened and the story goes that this man was working on sunday:the sacred day for the catholic church and he was cutting oisiers im not sure of the enlgish word but it is a tree with skinny branches and you use them to weave baskets and when he cut the tree the tree started bleeding human blood and there is a peice of the tree that remains and its inside the church and i indeed saw it i must add that this place was abandoned i saw one other person while we were there... then we went to another small chapel where another miracle happened to the same man who was again working on a sunday and he was herding cattle and mary appeared in the sky and told him to stop... and then we went to another one farther in the woods and that was the site of the final miracle where he was cutting the trees again on a sunday and mary told him to stop and he didnt and he disappeared into the air with mary... so this was indeed quite strange with this overly nice family i might add that the weather did turn and it got really overcast while we were viewing the miracles... then we went back to the house and we had the whole tour of the house and they have a bathroom with paisely print walls ceiling and door... it was unique and it turned really weird when the 22 year old showed us his bed room and he had teddy bears in there and his bed sheets had clowns on them... that was so weird... and after that was when hannah and i started to notice that this guy is a little strange we found him talking to himself a bit and just acting over all like he has some sort of social problem and he wanted us to play some sort of children board game with him that was about the map of france... so we did and he lost really bad to hannah and i and we arent french! Then we had nothing to do and he decided that we would go for a tour... and he took us in his car... and they were waiting for things like they had a schedule but really there wasnt one and hannah and i are wondering... well it was fun earlier to see all the churches and stuff but its time to go home now if you have no more entertainment... but the tour was we went to albenc and he bought cigarettes and then he showed us the tennis court where he plays tennis and then he showed us his friends house... so that was strange and goes along even more that he has some sort of social issue... like a child this man showed us where his friends live and where he plays??? Then when we got back to the house he showed us the origami that he has made... and also what his dad had made and then the dad showed us this christmas decoration that is like a full on nativity scene with lights and everything that he has made himself and its in this armoir so when its not christmas you just close the armoir but when it is christmas you open the doors and so now i thinking this is a bit like house of wax and so we are all sitting around the fire and they are talking and it was normal for a second they had a map and were asking where we were from and they were talking about our families at home and then they started asking about sports and the mom asked if we play tennis and the response was no and she said oh you can go with us and well teach you and then they asked do you ski and the response was umm... from me and yes from hannah and they said oh well we can go skiing one saturday and then they showed us their old cars that they have and it was too dirty to ride that day plus it was raining oh how that weather turned but that another day we could come and they would take us for a ride in their car and then they asked us what classes at school we are in and they decided that their strange son can help me with my math homework some days and this was all dead serious invitations i am totally planning on them callng again to do activites... at this point i think they are trying to find a friend for their old and awkward son! But anyways, in a nutshell it was interesting and I believe it will be a memorable experience from this exchange the family was genuinely nice and i do believe that the parents just wanted to meet some of the exchange students and do something nice for them... but their son was just weird and i am not talking about johnny weird i am talking about house of wax weird! But i guess we will be spending scads of time together! Ugh the more i think about this the stranger it is! but today corentin played two matches of roller hockey so i went along to watch those matches in grenoble... they won both games... i even sported a supportie t shirt! Between the two sylvie christine and i went to a christmas market in grenoble i didnt buy anything actually none of us did just tasted all the free samples oh yeah and we did have roasted chestnuts... but we had a picnic lunch at the gymnasium and i was so excited that they had chips... i think i have had chips only twice while i have been here so i am a pig when they whipped that bag out! But anyways today was nice and relaxing and interesting to see a roller hockey match... so anyways thats about it... this was a long entry you are probably bored to tears at this point!
